Registration
To enroll in the class you must prove your proficiency in tying the following knots and be able to perform the following vertical skills.
Knots:
Tie the following with 11 mm rescue rope unless otherwise noted:
- Figure Eight on a Bight
- Figure Eight Follow Through
- Double Figure Eight
- Bowline with safety (Yosemite acceptable)
- Munter Hitch
- Butterfly Know
- Ring Bend (Water Knot) in webbing
- Double Overhand Bend (Double Fisherman's Knot, Barrel) in 8 mm cord
- Prusik Hitch (3 wrap) in 8 mm cord on rescue rope
- Clove Hitch with safety
- Trucker's hitch
Personal Vertical System and SRT:
Starting with gear in pack, ascend 30 feet, change over to rappel, descend, change back to ascent, down-climb. (25 minutes)

Individuals who pass the above skills by August 31st will be put on a tentative registration list. As the class size is limited to 20 students, if necessary, there will be a lottery on September 1st to determine the attendees. Any remaining spots after September 1st will be filled on a first come basis.
